The NVAA text emphasizes foundations in victimology and victims' rights and services, as well as new developments in the field of victim assistance, and contains a section on international issues.

Needs Assessment for Service Providers and Trafficking Victims (2003)
Prepared by Caliber Associates for the National Institute of Justice, U.S. Department of Justice, it is the first-ever assessment on the needs of trafficking victims and the domestic service providers who work with them. The report (NCJ 202469), complete with survey instruments and focus group protocols, will help educate the field at large on meeting the specialized and complex needs of trafficking victims.

Trafficking in Persons: A Guide for Non-governmental Organizations (2002)
This brochure (BC 000674) from the U.S. Department of Justice is intended for nongovernmental organizations, such as service providers and other community-based organizations, to use as a reference guide to help trafficking victims.

Trafficking in Persons Report (June 2003)
This U.S. Department of State annual report is issued as required by the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act of 2000. It details international and U.S. efforts to end trafficking in persons, prosecute such traffickers, and protect and help victims; emphasizes the human side of trafficking through victim stories; and highlights innovative measures some countries are using to combat trafficking in persons.
