December 17, 2007 8:30 AM
to December 19, 2007 5:00 PM
American Institute of Mathematics, Palo Alto, CA
On December 17-19, 2007, AIM will host a workshop for teams preparing a submission to the Cyber-enabled Discovery and Innovation (CDI) program. AIM has substantial experience a fostering collaborative research in mathematics, and this workshop will be of significant help to teams preparing mathematics proposals which will be competitive in the NSF-wide CDI initiative. Participants will begin work prior to the workshop, and a substantial portion of the workshop will be spent on proposal preparation. Proposals for the CDI program require a letter of intent by November 30, followed by a pre-proposal due on January 8. To apply for the AIM workshop, just send your letter of intent to workshops@aimath.org and indicate which members of your team are available to participate in the AIM workshop. The AIM staff is also available prior to submission of the letter of intent; please contact us if you would like more information. This is part of a coordinated effort of the NSF Mathematical Sciences Institutes to inform the mathematical and statistical communities about this initiative and to facilitate the development of research proposals; see the website for activities at the various institutes. The Division of Mathematical Sciences at the National Science Foundation is strongly supportive of the involvement of mathematical and cross-disciplinary groups in research projects connected with CDI.
