ASTER has two unique ways to identify a given image or scene. They are referred to as the Data Granule ID and Local Granule ID. The Data Granule ID is the identifier that is stored in the archive database and is the identifier often displayed on image browsers such as GLOVIS and Earth Explorer. In contrast, the Local Granule ID is the naming convention used to distribute the product to the end user. In the table below both IDs are provided. Clicking on either the Data Granule ID or the Local Granule ID in each row will result in downloading the same image file. Also note that the file being downloaded will have the Local Granule ID name.
