The American Community Survey FTP Site contains data from the American Community Survey as they are released.

On the FTP site users can find current and historical ACS data. ACS data are located in the directories beginning with "ACS". The FTP site can be accessed through an internet browser by going to http://www2.census.gov or by using an ftp client and accessing ftp://ftp2.census.gov. No user name and password are required. If prompted for one use "anonymous" as the user name and no password.

The FTP site contains data tables from all years of the ACS, Public Use Microdata Sample (PUMS) Files, the ACS Summary Files, table shells, archived from the 1996 - 2004 ACS, and more.

The 1996- 2004 archived ACS data can be accessed through the path - http://www2.census.gov/acs/downloads/Core_Tables.

PUMS Files from 1996 - 2006 can be accessed through the path - http://www2.census.gov/acs/downloads/pums/. Beginning with the 2007 ACS data release PUMS files will be located in the directory at http://www2.census.gov that relates to the data year.

Table shells can be accessed through the path - http://www2.census.gov/acs/downloads/shells.

The ACS Summary Files can be found in the directories relating to the data year at http://www2.census.gov.
