An analysis of unemployment and other labor market indicators in 10 countries

Declining unemployment rates in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom contrast with record highs in Japan, France, and Italy during 1987; for the first time, employment ratios by sex are analyzed. This article compares unemployment, employment, and related labor market statistics in the United States and nine foreign industrial nations.
