Wyoming in Focus: Census Bureau Pre-Caucus Snapshot
Wyoming, which is holding its Democratic caucus on March 8, had a 2007 population of about 520,000. It included a higher percentage of the non-Hispanic white-alone population and a lower percentage of blacks and Hispanics than the nation as a whole, according to U.S. Census Bureau statistics. About 67 percent of Wyoming’s voting-age citizens cast a ballot in the 2004 general election; the national rate was 64 percent. Wyoming held its Republican caucus on Jan. 5.
