Covenant Transport, Inc., one of the ten largest truckload carriers in the
United States measured by revenue, was founded in 1985 by David and Jacqueline
Parker with only 25 tractors and 50 trailers. Today, Covenant Transport, Inc.
operates 3,500 tractors and 8,500 trailers throughout the continental United

Covenant Transport, Inc. has an average tractor age of approximately 17 months,
and an average trailer age of approximately 36 months. While operating as a
publicly-traded truckload carrier, Covenant Transport will continue to monitor
and control environmental risks by maintaining and implementing the following
programs:
- 100% tractors equipped with post 2002 emission-compliant engines.
- Enforce and maintain road speed limit policies.
- Provide a driver incentive package for further speed reductions.
- Usage of automated fuel router systems.
- 100% tractors equipped with automated load planning, dispatch and satellite communication technologies to ensure travel and fuel efficiencies.
- 100% tractors equipped with aerodynamic packages.
- 100% utilization of fuel efficient tires during trailer operations. Also used during various tractor tests.
- Installation and evaluation of Auxiliary Power Units (APU) which furnishes heat, air and power inverters.
- 90% fleet equipped with 2004 engines; remaining 10% installation will occur within next 6 months.
- Currently testing 2007 engines from the Detroit Diesel manufacturer.
