LINKING eRECRUIT TO USAJOBS

Q: Why is eRecruit linked to USAJOBS?

A: The President's Management Agenda (PMA) calls for one stop recruiting for all Federal jobs. By eliminating the multiple sign-ins necessary to apply for differing agency staffing systems, sending applicants to USAJOBS to search and apply for all Federal jobs becomes easier and more consistent government-wide. By linking our online job search and application system (eRecruit) with USAJOBS, we will achieve "green" on our PMA e-Gov scorecard for Recruitment One Stop (ROS).

Q: What is Recruitment One Stop?

A: Recruitment One Stop (ROS) is an OMB e-Gov initiative that establishes USAJOBS as a one-stop for Federal job seekers to apply for positions online. ROS eliminates the need for maintaining multiple user IDs to apply for Federal jobs.

Q: Why do I have to use USAJOBS to apply for a job?

A: Most Federal agencies use USAJOBS to recruit applicants for their positions. The National Science Foundation has integrated its job search system with USAJOBS to make it quicker and easier for applicants to find and apply for jobs in which they are interested. You must create a user account and at least one Federal resume at USAJOBS. Information you provide in USAJOBS is general information completed by all applicants. The information you provide, and your Federal resume, will become part of your application and will automatically be transferred to eRecruit, NSF's online recruitment system, when you apply online.

Q: What happens in the eRecruit recruitment system?

A: In the eRecruit system, you will answer vacancy specific questions necessary to evaluate your qualifications for the specific job to which you are applying. When completed, the information you provided at USAJOBS and the answers to the questions will become your application. After the vacancy closes, the Human Resource Specialist uses the eRecruit system to identify well-qualified candidates and refer them for consideration for the position advertised.
