Robert processes requests for germplasm from researchers, students, curators, and staff; coordinates with curators and requestors to ensure that requests meet users’ needs and are filled accurately and promptly; and coordinates with APHIS and Unit Plant Pathologist to ensure that supplied germplasm meets international phytosanitary and import regulations.
Robert also receives, organizes, and collects data and seed packets; interprets geographical, historical, genetic, and donor information (i.e., passport data) accompanying germplasm; selects, formats, and enters pertinent information into GRIN; and serves as custodian for extensive passport data files.
Special Interests:
Robert’s main focus involves streamlining the processing of seed orders and accessioning of new germplasm to keep up with the increasing demands for germplasm in the research community.
