DEA Administrator Announces Positive Results In Fiscal Year 2002 Financial Statement Audit

DEA Administrator Asa Hutchinson announced today that no material weaknesses were found in DEA's Fiscal Year (FY) 2002 Financial Statement Audit Report. This marks a significant improvement for DEA and is the first time that DEA has received an annual financial statement audit without any weaknesses.

"This accomplishment is the result of the hard work of every DEA office devoted to improving the agency's financial records and I am confident that the FY 2003 Financial Audit Report will be just as favorable," said DEA Administrator Asa Hutchinson.

The positive results of this audit place DEA in line with the President's Management Agenda for "Improved Financial Performance" for federal government agencies.
