The U.S. Geological Survey provides a wealth of resources, including databases, maps, and bibliographies, to improve the understanding of the Nation's aquatic resources. Listed below are samples of USGS online resources about fish distribution, habitat condition, nonindigenous aquatic species, and other subjects, related to aquatic and fisheries studies.

Databases and Datasets

• Acute Toxicity Database - summarizes the results from aquatic acute toxicity tests conducted by the USGS Columbia Environmental Research Center since 1965 (CERC)
• Bathymetry Data for the Upper Mississippi River System - maps and GIS data of the Upper Mississippi River's water depth (UMESC)
