What is E-ZPass and how can I get it for my vehicle?

1. E-ZPass is an electronic toll collection technology that allows you to pay your tolls from a prepaid account. It can save you money and reduce your wait at toll booths. To get E-ZPass for your vehicle, call the E-ZPass Regional Consortium Service Center at (888) 288-6865 or visit their website at www.ezpass.com.

What is the Federal-aid program and your relationship with the New Jersey Department of Transportation?

1. The Federal-aid program is a Federally assisted State program as prescribed by law in Title 23, United States Code (23 USC), Section 145. In addition, 23 USC, Section 106, prescribes our working relationship with the NJDOT. In this program, the NJDOT is responsible for project planning, design, construction, and maintenance of highways. Our role is to work with the NJDOT to ensure those program actions comply with applicable Federal requirements and to provide technical advice to create the best highway system possible. What is the Federal Highway Administration's definition of a bridge?

1. A structure, including supports, erected over a depression or an obstruction, such as water, a highway, or a railway, having a track or passageway for carrying traffic or other moving loads, and having an opening measured along the center of the roadway of more than 20 feet between undercopings of abutments or spring lines of arches, or extreme ends of the openings for multiple boxes; it may include multiple pipes where the clear distance between openings is less than half of the smaller contiguous opening.
