Section 64d01: Effective Dates of SMW Certificates

• The effective date of the certificate is stated below the employer's name and address. Work Center and Patient Worker certificates are issued for two-year periods. Business Establishment (Special Worker) certificates, including Supported Employment (SE) and School Work Experience Program (SWEP) certificates, are issued for a one-year period.
• If an application for renewal has been properly and timely filed, the existing SMW certificate will remain in effect until the application for renewal has been granted or denied (see Regulations 29 CFR Part 525.13(b)).
