Title:  Working Paper: Adult Education in the 1990s: A Report on the 1991 National Household Education Survey
Description: This report presents data from the Adult Education component of the 1991 National Household Education Survey (NHES:91), a household-based data collection designed to provide estimates of participation in adult education. For the purposes of this report (unless otherwise stated) adult education is defined as part-time participation in any educational activity (including part-time college) by an individual 17 years or older. Thus, the inference population for estimates in this report includes all noninstitutionalized civilians, 17 years or older, not enrolled full time in elementary or secondary school at the time of the survey.
