Our June 21 memorandum allocated FY 2002 Discretionary Bridge Program (DBP) funds for 19 projects that are listed in Conference Report 107-308 for the FY 2002 DOT Appropriations Act. The purpose of this memorandum is to allocate DBP funds for 3 seismic retrofit projects in 4 States. A listing of these projects is included in the table below:

These DBP awards include 100 percent obligation authority. Those projects, which cannot be obligated in FY 2002, will need to be submitted through the standard application process in the future. We are requesting each Division that has projects listed in the above table to monitor the obligation of these funds. Please advise the Office of Bridge Technology, HIBT-30, as soon as possible, if the funds are not going to be obligated this fiscal year.
The Federal share payable may not exceed 80 percent of the cost of the project and should be programmed under Appropriation Code Q07. Federal involvement in the project should follow the current implementing guidance for project review, oversight and administration.
