This Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) Program grant supports acquisition of a suite of field, laboratory and computational equipment to foster student education and research in coastal environmental science at Elizabeth City State University (ECSU), one of only two Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) in the U.S. that offer degree programs in geology and marine science. Equiment to be purchased includes salinity, temperature, turbidity and dissolved oxygen probes, a current meter, GIS software and GPS equipment, and multiple PC's and printers and storage devices.
