AI/AN students in the South Central region score comparably to non-AI/AN peers

NIES regions are based on U.S. Census divisions and are configured to align with the overall distribution of the AI/AN student population. The results are based on samples from students enrolled in all types of schools (public, private, Bureau of Indian Education (BIE), and Department of Defense).   • Except for the South Central region, AI/AN fourth-graders scored lower than their non-AI/AN peers.
