It's Time to Test for Radon
NSC sponsors National Radon Action Week the third week of October because cold weather,
when our homes are sealed, is the best time to test for this odorless, tasteless gas.
Testing is the only way to detect radon, the second-leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. (after smoking).
The NSC offers detailed
radon information
online, as well as a toll-free Radon Hotline, 800/767-7236, for ordering brochures and cost-effective, short-term test kits.
NSC radon information specialists are also available, weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. (EST) at 800/557-2366.
