Volpe Analyzes International Climate Change Policy Efforts

In recent years, emissions of greenhouse gases have increased. Scientists believe that greenhouse gases are capable of causing global warming. Fighting global warming is a worldwide effort. The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change is an international organization that aims to stabilize the production of greenhouse gases at a level that would prevent interferences with the climate. The Department of Transportation's (DOT) Climate Change and Environmental Forecasting Center works through the Framework Convention to enable the DOT to engage in domestic and international policy development. The Volpe Center supports the DOT's Climate Change Center with related policy analysis and participation in subsidiary technical bodies.
