The U.S. Commercial Service is organizing a delegation from Thailand to attend the Pack Expo International, November 9-13, 2008 at McCormick Place, Chicago, IL, USA.

The Pack Expo and Process Expo is the American largest showcase for food processing and packaging machinery (organized and sponsored by American Packaging Machinery and Food Processing Machinery Association).  This year it will be co-located with The Converting & Package Printing (CPP) Expo, which will be a showcase for the package printing.

The Pack Expo 2008 will focus on the latest developments in packaging technology and will showcase state-of-the-art advances in packaging machinery, converting machinery, materials, packages and containers, and components.  The show will also focus on RFID and the brand protection packaging (against bio-terrorism, counterfeiting and product adulteration).  The Process Expo will focus on the newest developments in processing technology to meet the challenges faced by the food and beverage manufacturers.  CPP Expo will show the latest technologies in printing, coating, slitting and other state- of- the-art finishing processes.

The show will feature over 2000 exhibiting firms, with 1.2 million square feet of exhibits with working machinery.  Over 450,000 visitors, including 6000 international visitors from over 125 countries will attend the show. The attendees will come form a wide range of industries: automotive, meat/poultry/seafood, food & beverage/wine, fruit and vegetable, bakery & snack, cosmetics & toiletries, dairy, drugs & pharmaceutical, chemical, candy & confectionery, raw materials, paper & textiles,electronics parts, computer hardware/software, entertainment, soaps & detergents, private label, toys and games, and many more.
