NSF-Funded Researchers to Discuss Report of Potential Ice Sheet Melting

Reporters are invited to interview two NSF-funded researchers about a paper, to be published in the March 24 edition of Science magazine, that indicates ice sheets in both the Arctic and Antarctica could melt more quickly than expected this century, based on studies that blend computer modeling with paleoclimate records.

Bette Otto-Bliesner, of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), and Jonathan Overpeck, of the University of Arizona, will be available for telephone interviews between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Eastern time on Weds., March 22.
