The Ministry of Construction has released a set of draft standards for evaluating the qualifications of construction engineering design firms for public comment. The (Draft)Standards for Construction Engineering Design Qualifications include four separate standards - the comprehensive qualification standard, which covers 21 industry sectors,the engineering design industry qualification standard, the engineering design professional qualification standard and the special engineering design qualification standard. Each standard has an A and a B class with specific capital and technical requirements, as well as defined business scopes. Comments on the draft standards, dated January 26 but posted on the Ministry’s website on Sunday, should be submitted before March 31.

The Ministry also posted on its website The (Draft) Regulations for the Administration of Energy Saving in Buildings for public comment, which should be submitted before February 24.
