The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 3 will host its first Beyond Translation forum on October 30, 2008. This event is part of a continuing effort to effectively engage the Hispanic and Asian communities as partners in environmental stewardship.

What is Beyond Translation?
EPA is committed to developing strong and dynamic partnerships with the nation's Hispanic and Asian communities. Engaging these fast-growing communities is essential to the Agency's efforts to encourage all Americans to be better environmental stewards.
As part of the Agency's commitment to fostering regional collaborations with the Hispanic and Asian communities, EPA is hosting a forum that will include:
- Information on environmental health, environmental education and economic opportunities
- Networking opportunities
- Speakers from federal, state & city government and the non-profit community
The forum will help:
- Build stronger community partnerships
- Increase awareness of economic opportunities
- Serve as an education pipeline
- Create networks for employment and professional development
