Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Transportation Security Specialists are responsible for the enforcement of policies, regulations and directives designed to protect the nation’s public from air transportation piracy and other acts of sabotage to air transportation. Their responsibilities include independently conducting comprehensive inspections and investigations of airports, aircraft operators and indirect air carriers and monitoring compliance with civil aviation security policies, regulations, and agreements. After conducting tests of security systems in connection with compliance inspections, the Transportation Security Specialist provides written analyses of inspections and assessments and writes recommendations for corrective actions to improve security posture or to restore compliance.
