Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The FEMA Natural Hazard Program Specialist schedules and conducts a variety of meetings throughout the Region and presents National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) study data at a local public meetings; and provides technical assistance to local government officials for the preparation and implementation of the flood plain management regulations required for participation in the NFIP. Serving as the regional contact regarding NFIP activities as they concern the NHP, the Natural Hazard Program Specialist responds to all inquiries on the NFIP that are not engineering-related, from the public and/or local, state or Federal agencies; He/she responds to special assignments or projects as directed by the Branch Chief including participation in other hazard planning and grant activities associated with the Flood mitigation Assistance and Pre-Disaster Mitigation grant programs.

Requirements:

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade in the Federal service.
