CS Vancouver promoted and hosted a U.S. Pavilion at the 10th Biennial, USDOC Certified, Globe Environmental Conference and Exhibition (Globe 2008) on March 12-14, 2008.  Over fifty U.S. participants gained valuable exposure and business contacts with approximately 8,000 visitors from Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America attending the event.

The U.S. Pavilion hosted individual companies and a number of CS Canada multiplier organizations including the Washington Clean Technology Alliance, Washington State Department of Community Trade and Economic Development, Norwest Environmental Business Council, Enterprise Seattle, and the Council of American States in Canada (CASC) representing the States of Florida, Illinois, Tennessee, Georgia, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Minister Counselor Stephan Wasylko joined CS Vancouver to support numerous programs and activities organized in conjunction with Globe 2008, such as the week long State of Illinois Trade Development Program and a CS Vancouver organized networking reception with U.S. Ambassador David Wilkins and Globe 2008 exhibitors. Ambassador Wilkins and MC Wasylko greeted over 85 guests at the reception and presented the DG's Certificate of Appreciation for Achievement in Trade to Ron Ubels, Vice President of CDS Customs Service for his years of support to CS Vancouver and U.S. exporters.

CS Vancouver was pleased to have Trade Specialist Bob Deane, representing the Seattle and Montana USEACs, the Environmental Team, Rural Initiative and Asia Pacific Teams, at Globe to help support U.S. participants and staff our Business Information Office.

Clean Earth Technology of Vermont was among those exhibitors who found the show extremely productive, reporting fourteen promising leads from markets as diverse as Taiwan, Italy, Turkey, Belgium, and an immediate $7,000 sale to a Canadian customer.
