Wounded Warrior Project salutes the New York Giants for their support of our nation's severely injured service members. In addition to generous financial support, the Giants have hosted groups of warriors at games, offering them a close-up view of the action from their sideline seats. In January, the team even made wounded warrior Greg Gadson an honorary team captain.

Additionally, the Giants have helped raise awareness for injured service members through special WWP commemorative coin tosses, the play of public service announcements during games, and more.

On behalf of our nation's wounded warriors, WWP offers a Giant thank you to the New York team.

On April 13, 2004, Melissa Stockwell lost virtually her entire left leg to an Iraqi roadside bomb attack. She was only 23 and the first female US soldier amputee of the war.  No one would have blamed her if she was angry and lashed out at everyone in sight: the President, Iraqis, two-legged American civilians who've largely sacrificed nothing during the wars, at the unfairness of life itself.
