Title: Increased Drinking Water Supply Through Improved Cistern
Design in Rural Haiti and Other Developing Countries
Eastern Illinois University students will research the most promising designs and construction methods for simple, economical solutions to maintain cisterns, allow them to last longer, and enable prolonged access to clean drinking water. Barasa, Haiti is an extremely poor, isolated community where cisterns are the preferred method of collecting and storing water for household use.
