Application

Federal Flight Deck Officers

The online application for eligible flight crewmembers interested in volunteering for the Federal Flight Deck Officer (FFDO) program is now available via a secure website!

Please Note: Recent changes in the law have expanded eligibility to certain cargo pilots and other flight crew personnel. Interested flight crewmembers should thoroughly review the information on the proceeding pages before continuing to the online application. Complete instructions are provided on that site.

You will be required to enter your current Air Transport Pilot or Commercial Pilot Certification number (Pilot Certificate Number) to access the FFDO online application. The login requirement is to ensure that non-eligible individuals do not submit applications as that would result in substantial delays in the processing of applications.

Please Note: Having an Air Transport Pilot, Commercial Pilot or other certificate is not sufficient in itself to establish eligibility. Please review the eligibility requirements before continuing to the online application.

The first step to volunteer for the program is to complete the on-line Volunteer Questionnaire.

To access the Volunteer Questionnaire on-line, you must provide your Airman's certificate number and other information for confirmation of eligibility and identification purposes. Eligible volunteers will be directed to the Volunteer Questionnaire on a secure Web site. Once a volunteer completes and submits the questionnaire, it will be reviewed to ensure that all eligibility requirements are met. You will be notified via E-mail within ten (10) calendar days of your eligibility with procedures to the next steps in the process.
