How long do I have to file a claim with TSA?

Under the Federal Tort Claim Act (FTCA), a person is allowed two (2) years to file a legally sufficient claim.

TSA recommends that you file your claim as soon as possible in order to preserve possible evidence. To facilitate investigation of your claim, your description of the incident should be as detailed as possible including information such as date and time of the incident, the airline you were traveling on and flight number, airport terminal, specific checkpoint location, the names of any TSA and airport personnel involved, and the names and contact information for any other individuals that might have witnessed the incident.

TSA strives to adjudicate all claims within sixty (60) days.
