Solicitation for Competitive Applications and
Pre-Application Conference Information

The Minority Business Development Agency is soliciting operators for its Minority Business Enterprise Center (MBEC) Program in Houston, Texas.  A general notice was published in the Federal Register Notice on Tuesday, October 7, 2008.  In addition, a notice was also published in www.Grants.gov.  

Applicants interested in competing for this solicitation are encouraged to apply electronically through www.Grants.gov. A complete Federal Funding Opportunity (FFO) announcement can be found as an attachment in www.Grants.gov and under this announcement by selecting the link below.

The deadline to apply under this competition is Friday, November 7, 2008, at 5:00 p.m., EST.

Applicants are invited to participate in a Pre-Application Conference scheduled for Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at 12:45 p.m., EST.  This will be an excellent opportunity for applicants to ask general questions regarding the program.  To participate in the pre-application conference:

• Event location address
• Start time
• Identification requirements prior to entering building

• Teleconference Attendance – register electronically at https://www.mymeetings.com.
• Go to the Events box
• Select Web RSVP
• You will then come to a page that asks for the conference confirmation number and pass-code
  • Enter conference confirmation number “1163581”
  • Give Pass-code – “5427734”
  • Select the proceed button 
• Fill in all fields of the form and select the submit button
• Note, if you do not complete all the fields you will not be admitted to the pre-application conference
• Teleconference information will be displayed. Please write-down this information and use on the date and time of the Pre-Application Conference.
• Presentation information will be distributed on Monday, October 20, 2008. Please be sure to provide your correct email address.

Pre-Application Conference Registration will close Monday, October 20, 2008 at 5:00 p.m., EST.
