Deep Creek Culvert Replacement: This project will replace
the existing 8' X 112' CMP with a 20 foot span X 102 foot long arch
culvert with concrete footings and stemwall. The project includes
erosion control, dewatering the site with a stream bypass, limited
vegetation clearing and grubbing, stripping and stockpiling of existing
aggregate surfacing, excavation of road bed, removal of existing culvert,
stockpiling of excavated material, poured-in-place and, or, precast
structural concrete for footings and stemwall, placing and compacting

campgrounds on the Custer Motorway. Work includes replacing campground
furniture, salvaging designated furniture and signs, shaping roadways
and spurs, placing aggregate surfacing on roadways, trails, and spurs,
barrier rock installation, pathway and stairway construction, sign installation,
vault toilet removals and installations, painting and minor clearing.
This contract will be advertised in the spring of 2006 for construction
during the summer of 2006.
- Custer Motorway Trailheads West: This project is to upgrade
5 trailheads and 2 interpretive sites along the Custer Motorway west
of Mill Creek Summit. Work includes filling, shaping subgrades and placing
aggregate surfacing at trail heads and interpretive sites, barrier rock
installation, fencing, clearing and grubbing, road and trail obliteration,
installation of signs, hitching rails, fire rings, and one vault toilet.
This contract will be advertised in the spring of 2006 for construction
during the summer of 2006
- Boundary Creek Bunkhouse: This project is to construct a bunkhouse
facility at the Boundary Creek Administrative site. The Project consists
of the construction of a two story, 1320 sq ft bunkhouse, installing
solar power for lights, washer, and receptacles; providing propane appliances
and some lights; 180 lft (approx) of road 14' wide native surface, a
5 vehicle parking lot native surface, 50 lft (approx) of 4' wide gravel
path; installing a 1000 gal septic tank, an in-trench sand filter absorption
field, 140 lft (approx) new water line, replacing plumbing appurtenances

- Goldstone Mine Tailings Removal: The Project consists of treating
mine tailings at the Goldstone mine site and restoring a stream channel
where the tailings are located. Approximately 4,400 cubic yards of tailings
are to be hauled and placed at an on-site repository. The repository
will then be capped with borrow material and riprap available on-site.
The tailings removal site, located in the Pratt Creek floodplain, will
then be restored to a stable, naturally functioning stream channel by
re-contouring the floodplain and establishing stream stabilization structures.
The roads accessing the mine site and those to be used to haul tailings
will need some minor clearing, excavation and drainage improvements.
An earthen and log dam and a culvert will be removed and used in the
restoration work or placed at the repository. Two temporary roads and
support structures across wetlands will need to be constructed to access
some of the tailings and will be obliterated after the removal is completed.
The road accessing the mine site will be restored to the original width
upon completion of the contract. This contract has been awarded to Stalnaker
Transportation and Construction and work is to be completed during the
summer of 2006
