Q : Who performs the medical exam?

Medical examinations performed in the U.S. are given by licensed physicians who have been certified by USCIS as civil surgeons.  USCIS designates physicians as civil surgeons in accordance with guidelines from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and CDC.

NOTE: When medical exams are required, USCIS only accepts medical exams performed and signed by a designated civil surgeon.  A medical exam performed by a doctor NOT designated by USCIS will not be recognized.
