Greetings,
First, I want to say that I totally and completely support the PROWAC Report.
As a blind citizen of the United States, it amazes me beyond words that people
can seriously oppose providing this kind of warning to me. I have been fortunate
enough to travel in other countries. England, in
particular, London, is a far safer place for blind people to walk than any city
I've been in here in the USA.
In my home town, Lake Oswego, Oregon, they recently added audible signals in the
downtown area. It has made a significant difference in safety as those are some
of the busiest intersections here.
I am, quite frankly, disgusted that there is even a possibility that these
changes won't be adopted.
Sincerely,
Richard Turner
