Teaming Up To Save Energy

Organizations with energy programs that achieve results have senior-level support, sufficient energy program staff, and management structures that empower staff to address energy efficiency issues directly. The ENERGY STAR Guidelines for Energy Management provide a management structure that your organization can follow to develop a strategy for achieving sustained performance. Forming an energy team is one of the first steps in this framework.

Teaming Up to Save Energy is a new “how-to” guide developed by EPA on building an energy management team. The guide discusses how to structure, launch, and maintain your organization’s energy team so that you can improve energy performance across your organization.

Examples from ENERGY STAR Partners and a checklist for team organizing are provided to illustrate practices and help you implement the strategies presented in the guide.
