I'm totally blind and travel with a guide dog. I have a slight hearing loss that makes it difficult to sometimes read traffic. I regularly use 3 intersections that have detectable warnings-audible traffic signals. They enable me to safely and confidently cross streets. The minority of blind people opposed to this assume that all blind people have excellent mobility skills. This isn't true and audible signals enable more of us to live productive lives. I am employed and am a taxpayer also.
