Transit Security Grant Program Tier I FY 2007

Grants Programs 2007

The TSGP is one of five grant programs in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Infrastructure Protection Program (IPP), which is designed to strengthen the nation's critical infrastructure against risks associated with terrorism. TSGP Tier I provides funding to owners and operators of transit systems (passenger rail and intracity bus) in the highest risk transit regions in the country: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, the National Capital Region, New York, Philadelphia, and the San Francisco Bay Area.

DHS works collaboratively with our security partners to implement grant programs that reduce risks to our nation’s transportation systems. Here’s how.

DHS meets with a Regional Transit Security Working Group (RTSWG) in each region to establish a Cooperative Agreement that identifies projects that will have the greatest security impact based on national priorities.

FY 2007 Tier I funding totaled $227,640,463, including the Base ($141,440,463) and the Supplemental ($86,200,000).
