• FY08 Round I grant awards total $16.9 million
• Eligible grant recipients are intracity rail and bus systems in 29 Urban Areas
• FY08 Funding Priorities reflect cost-effective projects that prevent or protect against terrorism and will have an immediate impact in reducing risk. Examples: security training for frontline employees; visible/unpredictable deterrence activities; drills and exercises; and public awareness programs
• An additional $6 million was available through a recompete process
