Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge Completes Summer Walk Series
Region 3, August 15, 2004
During July and August, Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge offered a series of three walks, one for each trail the refuge has open to the public. Edward Henry, acting deputy manager, led the walks as part of his Leadership Pathways employee development detail. The three walks resulted in a total 27 contacts and, just as importantly, four newspaper articles and related publicity generated from a media release. The walks introduced attendees to the new management regime at Liberty Marsh, grassland management along the Dagmar Dale Nature Trail and the role of forested wetlands along the Wood Duck Nature Trail.
