The United States Network for Educational Information provides information to Americans and persons abroad about U.S. and foreign education systems. The Gateway to Educational Materials allows educators to search for lesson plans, curriculum materials, and other education resources on the Internet. The Knowledge Loom allows you to view stories about best practices in real schools, review research on these practices, learn about replication, add your own questions and stories, participate in online discussions and events, and discover supporting organizations and resources. The initial focus of this prototype "best practices online" system is professional development, with literacy, technology, and other topics to follow. The Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC), the most comprehensive index of education-related literature in the world, provides an online searchable database. The Virtual Reference Desk (VRD) provides a digital reference service designed to answer the questions of students and educators by connecting them to a network of experts. ED Pubs enables users to order online the Department of Education's publications, posters, videos, and other products. |
