I am writing to let you know that the visually impaired need more assistance from the City, County, and State. Being a blind individual, I am at mercy of the public transportation, and/or walking. I personally use one bus, two trains, and also walking as my daily commute. I put my safety at risk regularly crossing a four lane highway. I have asked for assistance but have had no response. A completion of 70yards of sidewalk, and abit of signage would greatly increase the standards of my commute. This is just minimal. Of course, there could be much more done to improve the quality of my overall commute. I am a property owner along the street in question, and have received absolutely no response from my requests to the numerous agencies that I have contacted. This is an issue that needs to be addressed. Blind and handicapped individuals are ready to "come out of the closet", get off of state assistance, and go to work, and pay taxes that will, in turn, pay for these improvements.
Thank you,
