EPA has made a technical amendment to the ENERGY STAR specification for residential light fixtures which added test procedures for qualification of fixtures employing LED light engines, without revising the scope or existing requirements and language. To address concerns about quality issues, EPA offered the opportunity for interested parties to comment on the technical amendment of the RLF specification. EPA accepted written comments until August 25, 2008.
EPA is evaluating comments received and considering the appropriateness and timing of suggested changes; a formal response will be issued shortly.
Partners and other interested parties with questions about the specification can contact Alex Baker, EPA, at Baker.Alex@epa.gov.
