Fees

HAZMAT Endorsement Threat Assessment Program

There are three components of the total fee that will be charged if you seek to apply for the first time or renew an HME; they are: Information Collection Fee; Threat Assessment Fee; and FBI Fee. The total of $94.00 is charged to process your application if you are in a TSA agent state. The following provides a brief explanation for states serviced by the TSA Agent.

Information Collection Fee $38.00

This is a fee charged for collecting, fingerprinting, and transmitting biographic information.

Threat Assessment Fee $34.00

This is a fee charged to cover TSA costs associated with checking biographic information against multiple databases and other sources so that TSA can determine whether you pose a security threat.

FBI Fee $22.00

This is a fee charged by the FBI to perform its Criminal History Records Check (CHRC), which entails checking fingerprints and biographical information against multi-state criminal history databases to assist TSA in determining whether you pose a security threat.

Non-TSA Agent State Fee

States not serviced by the TSA Agent assess their own fees to cover respective costs for information and fingerprint collection. TSA advises you visit your local DMV for fees charged in non-TSA agent states.
