Established in 1976, Schmidt Associates is a full-service facility design firm centrally located in downtown Indianapolis. Our staff includes licensed and certified professionals who specialize in the areas of architecture; mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering; technology; civil engineering and landscape architecture; interior design; construction delivery services; and program management.

Energy efficiency is at the forefront of our designs including items such as high-efficient boilers and chillers, heat recovery chillers, condenser water heat recovery, heat wheels, variable speed pumps and fans, carbon dioxide sensors, solar-powered faucets, displacement ventilation, and waterless urinals. In addition, we have multiple LEED certified professionals, and we incorporate high performance/sustainable design aspects into all of our projects.

As an example, our Decatur Central High School project is designed to earn the ENERGY STAR. One of only 18 schools in the country to earn this honor in 2007, the Decatur Central High School design achieved an EPA energy performance design rating of 87. The project was on display at the 2007 AIA National Convention in San Antonio.
