The Agricultural Research Service at Davis

 

Welcome to the Davis, California ARS website

The Davis Location is a part of the Agricultural Research Service in the Pacific Western Area.  Davis is located between San Francisco and Sacramento in California's Central Valley.  We are located in Yolo County where agriculture is the primary industry.  Orchards of walnuts, almonds and chestnuts are a part of the permanent scenery while fields of tomatoes, alfalfa, grain and sunflowers are common summer sights.  

The Location consists of three research units and an administration unit. The administration unit provides support services to the research units.  The research units include:

1) The Crops Pathology/Genetics Research Unit

2) The National Clonal Germplasm Repository for Tree Fruit and Nut Crops

3) The Western Human Nutrition Research Center
