Human Capital Strategic Plan

Background

The NSF Human Capital Strategic Plan, approved in March 2008, provides an integrated framework of policies and practices to guide NSF in meeting its workforce needs through 2012 and to enable NSF to excel as an organization. This plan, which supersedes the 2003 Human Capital Management Plan, describes NSF’s human capital management system, NSF human capital challenges in the 21st century context, the composition of the Foundation’s workforce, and the agency’s human capital vision and goals.

The NSF Human Capital Strategic Plan, which seeks to inform both managers and staff alike, incorporates the first-ever, Foundation-wide workforce and succession plans as well as addresses investing in human capital at NSF.

The plan is available for download from NSF's On-Line Document System.
