Recognize Success Along the Way

Providing recognition for improving energy efficiency is a proven way to sustain momentum and support for your activities. Opportunities for local recognition or recognition among peer groups are particularly useful, as building owners and managers will be recognized among the community they serve or those in their industry. In addition to recognition opportunities offered at the local level or among peer groups, building owners and operators should apply for national recognition available from EPA whenever possible. This includes the ENERGY STAR label for individual buildings and ENERGY STAR Leaders for portfolio-wide energy performance improvements.

Louisville already has many success stories to share with the community, and the city has recognized participants in the ENERGY STAR Challenge who are helping to meet the city's goals. In addition to receiving the ENERGY STAR plaque provided by EPA, all building owners in Louisville that have earned the ENERGY STAR for superior energy performance receive a certificate signed by Mayor Abramson and a certificate from Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear.
