Other Commercial Products
Earning the ENERGY STAR means a product meets strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy. By using less energy, these products help lower consumers’ utility bills, and prevent greenhouse gas emissions.
The links below take you to fact sheets, retail training materials, and other tools to help you, your staff, and your vendors communicate effectively to consumers about the benefits of purchasing products that have earned the ENERGY STAR.
- External Power Adapters/Battery Chargers — On average, ENERGY STAR qualified adapters are at least 30% more efficient than conventional models. Overall, one to two percent of U.S. electricity consumption could be saved through the use of more efficient power adapters.
- Water Coolers — Water coolers in businesses and homes consume about 4 billion kWh/yr. ENERGY STAR qualified water coolers use about half of the energy of conventional models.
