Dr. Olga Mićić was hired at NREL in 1993. She was the Principal Investigator on a project on synthesis and characterization of novel III-V semiconductor  quantum dot structures. She had over 20 years experience in the synthesis and study of colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals. She developed a method for the determination of redox potentials of semiconductor nanocrystals by pulse radiolysis technique. She authored one of the first three papers ever written about colloidal quantum dots (1985).  Upon arriving at NREL, she developed synthesis of III-V semiconductor quantum dots. Her research interests were in ordered nanocrystal close-packed arrays and shape nanocrystals. She is author of about 100 scientific publications. Before coming to NREL, she headed a group at the Institute of Nuclear Science, Vinca, Belgrade, Yugoslavia, which studied the radiation and photochemistry of nanoparticles.
