At NREL since 2007

Allison Kanarr received her B.S. in Chemistry from Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, Washington, in 2006. Her undergraduate research involved the use of dynamic light scattering to analyze phase separation of polymer blends. She was honored as an Association for Women in Science Scholar.

Ms. Kanarr started her graduate studies at the University of Colorado, Boulder, in the fall of 2006. Before starting at NREL, she taught chemistry labs and joined David Jonas' research group in the summer of 2007. Her lifelong curiosity serves her well as she is currently studying the interactions of thin silver films and phthalocyanines using their optical properties.
